Uncle Seth Podcast #22: Your Favorite Childhood Shows

19 meg MP3 file

Inspired by Tara's obsession with YouTube, the band members discuss their favorite childhood TV shows.

Music: This Little World - November 12, 2006 recording from Blake Papsin's basement

Comments:
Nice! You were a kid when John Candy died? What a way to start my day.

Mark

To be clear, TARA was a kid when John Candy died. The other members of the band were not. We were then and remain now, old buggers.

Ok, I'm a big loser, but I feel like I have to admit this... My best friend Maris and I named a stuffed cat of hers after Minou (which, incidentally, means "cat" in jouale). We then had my mother make her a special collar and for years she lived at my place and Mar's place, alternating everytime we got together. She was extremely special to us both and I owe that wonderful childhood memory to the polkadot door. Also, I had a Gummie Bears (TV Show) puzzle when I was little. Never actually saw the show though.
Backing Tara up on the existance of Camp Candy, which I couldn't stand, but my father adored, so I watched it with him.
Also, my dad used to talk about Jason of Starcommand all the time (mostly cause the guy from the original star trek movies is in it... the one who was scottish and said stuff like "I canna give yeh more powa capin!"). Oddly enough, I've heard of Electra Woman and Dinah Girl, although I have never seen the show. You might enjoy this link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WzcFLVOlRz0
Jay, did you ever watch Supercar or Thunderbirds? Somehow I think you would've enjoyed those. I grew up watching that stuff cause of my dad. I also watched a lot of Doctor Who, MASH and Get Smart. Strange, I know.
On a related note, I had a crappy day on Thursday and decided to stay home and watch daytime television. I ended up watching Inspector Gadget (which was basically kid-friendly cartoon get smart). It made me happy.
I can't decide if I liked This Little World better accoustic, or with the new funkiness. It sounds good, regardless. Are you guys gonna play Wake tomorrow? I hope so. I love that song.

I was wondering if this is the SAME Blake Papsin from Keewaydin, 1982?

My name is Hugh MacLeod, I'm in the same photo, front row, second from left. My blog is here: http://www.gapingvoid.com

If it is, please ask "Snake" to give me a ping at gapingvoid@gmail.com

I remember him being an AMAZING guitarist.

Thanks for your time,

Hugh
